Sekolah Sri Andalas adopts the Character First! Curriculum
“Character Determines Success”
Character is defined as “The qualities built into an individual’s life that determine his or her response, regardless of circumstances”.
We believe character building plays a pivotal role in shaping great individuals. In Sekolah Seri Cahaya, we are collaborating with Character First!, a non-profit organization with a mission to “promote true success in businesses, schools, families and communities by encouraging good character”. Character First! is more than a program-it is a leadership model that strengthens relationships, improves communication, and builds teamwork.
That is why the Character First! curriculum spells out each character quality as clearly as possible. There are 49 character qualities being taught in a very practical way

To help teachers establish a uniform "character language" that all of their students can understand, Character First! offers meaningful definitions of each character quality with practical ways to apply each quality.
The Character First! teacher's guides also provide a variety of age-appropriate stories, projects, object lessons, research assignments, poetry, art, music, handiwork, games, and discussion topics that can be woven into other activities of the school day.

Mentor – Mentee System
At SSC, we have the mentor-mentee system where the older students are given the opportunity to coach and mentor their younger counterparts. This system builds the character of responsibility, humility and generosity
Activities
Our students go through the coaching process in character building through practical activities. Our major learning avenues are through extra-curricular activities, school projects, company projects (e.g. charity carnivals) and off-campus camps. Professional coaches and teachers give valuable debriefings after each activity.
Indeed, Sekolah Seri Cahaya is a wholesome training ground for character building.
